Anger Management

Anger is a normal emotion that serves a health function: it alerts us that something is wrong and motivates us to take corrective actions. However, some children have severe anger issues– intense temper outbursts, extreme volatility,  moodiness, verbal and physical aggression   These children often misinterpret cues as hostile when they are not, lose control easily, over react in harsh ways, and cause themselves and others undue emotional and/or physical pain. This can make life extraordinarily challenging and frustrating for the child, their parents, teachers, friends and others who interact with them.  Therapists at the Center for Social Success can help your child express their anger in more healthy ways and help you develop a positive behavior plan at home to recognize triggers, establish family rules, and implement effective rewards and consequences.
